Edited 4 years agoSuch a wicked record - Work It is an absolute belter and Sexual oozes with groove. Swamp 81 is laced with big tunes but it's always this record I come back for.

I when I bought this record it really changed the way I was thinking about music at the time. Especially the b side, Sexual. The fusion with Juke and Footwork was so outer worldly while at the same time so dance floor friendly.
At the time I’d never heard anything like it and I not liking it at all at first and then going back to it after a few listens and realising just how brilliant it was.
I think a lot of people were really intrigued by this sound at the time and there’s been a lot of press on other records from the time (Footcrab, Work Them & Swims among others definitely come to mind as anthems of the label) but for me, this one is a seriously overlooked gem from a great catalog of records on Swamp. -
