Does anyone else have more matrix numbers than it says on here? Mine is the same as the ID’s on this listing but with 2054186 stamped as well.
Anyone else have the same or has this been re pressed? -
Great sounding pressing, but there's literally no writing anywhere, no track listings, no credits, no anything.

good pressing but i have a few gripes...
why call it "popstar edition" when there's nothing special? i feel like editions should be for like reissues or special releases, not for standard black.
zero effort was put into the inner packaging... like not even a lyric sheet was included.
if you really want this album on vinyl, i would reccomend getting the glitter coke bottle clear urban outfitters exclusive. -
Edited 2 months agovery good quality pressing but the packaging leaves something to be desired. tracklists are missing from the center labels and there are no credits, lyrics, or other info bits to be found! i get this is the lower priced pressing but still

I think the complaints myself and others here have shared are valid. Obviously, sound quality is a big part of why people listen to vinyl, but good presentation can enhance the experience. I don’t think it’s a bad thing that younger vinyl buyers expected a lot more from this. So what if a lot of vintage records didn’t have lyrics or better sleeves? A lot of time has ed, and things have changed. It’s really annoying barely being able to tell which side is which, because the letter is tiny. The lack of a tracklist is also frustrating. You’re telling me they couldn’t have put it on the back, the labels, or even inside the gatefold? I also prefer colored records. I just think they look cooler. The sleeves could’ve been better, too.

Gave this a couple of listens. I think it’s an excellent pressing. The artwork and packaging for the 1-year anniversary release is pretty and all, but I’m not gonna bother. This is fine as is!
Although I am also annoyed there isn’t a track list on the back. On the other hand, I have the album memorized at this point so… -

No Tracklisting
No Credits
No Liner Notes
Oh but there's a URL that is supposed to lead to the album credits but it's a 404 error?????
Great sounding pressing but this presentation is not it. -
Edited 9 months agoLOL! Funny reading these reviews, the new generation of vinyl buyers are such a fickle bunch. These "standard" 140 gram LP's sound awesome. Perhaps the artist designed the album package this way from the get go. You want to pay another $20 for the 180 gram (it's all sourced from digital I hope you know) and lyrics be my guest, even more for the colored vinyl, go for it. Or you can just enjoy the music. Now had Island spent the extra dough and made an all analog copy, yea, I'd pony up in a heartbeat. Now that would be worth the extra $. Unfortunately it's all about bean counting. And with the fickle pop music consumer out there these days, investing in an artist that's worth a potential bigger pay-off later just isn't done anymore (Atlantic axed her early on for gosh sake). Make as much as we can as fast as we can then send in the next Tik Tok sensation. The artist is disposeable. I hope Chappell bucks the trend.

Edited 10 months agoTo those who actually care about what's in the grooves and not what packaging or discs look like: This is one of the best pressings of a pop album in the last year. It meets the bare minimum requirements that every release should: Flat disc, with no extraneous surface noise - just a few clicks here and there only audible between tracks.
The mastering is excellent, great dynamics and soundstage and actually a treat to listen to. Chappell's voice cuts right through the mix, well-balanced with the rest of the instrumentation. After so many off-center, warped, noisy, and scratched out of the sleeve pressings lately this was a breath of fresh air. I must've got lucky, since this came from GZ/Precision Record Pressing.
Oh, the music is great too, but you already knew that. :)
