This copy, stamped ⓤ STERLING, is considered a US original in Japan's second-hand market.
The sound quality is excellent, and the 4.5+ rating is well-deserved.
That said, I should mention that I acquired this copy about 20 years after its original release, and it required some cleaning. -
This is probally one of the few good pressings ive heard, I had a original Back To Black uk pressing and this US sterling one blows the uk one under the carpet, its a bit quiet so through silent/quiet ages the crackling on the pressing itself is quite noticeable, but is more pronounced on the B side. I dont know why they ever bothered putting the bonus track there and removing addicted, but its whatever.

Edited one year agoMy copy has really bad sibilance. Nearly unlistenable, on every track. I heard it is a bad pressing and I should get the UK one.
-
I guess I got a good one. My pressing sounds fantastic. Deep, rich tone that makes you appreciate amy even more. This is a great album and pressing over here.

there will truly never be another Amy. she was so incredible and had such a genius mind for music! i'm really glad this record is in my collection, i listen to it a lot and her lyrics are just so timeless, i always feel a connection to what she's saying in each song after all these years. i miss her and think of her often. what an incredible musical legacy to leave behind, and what an incredible album! 🖤🖤🖤

Edited 3 years agoI am commenting on a pressing that had its lacquer cut by Ray Janos at Sterling Sound, indicated by an etched "RJ" followed by a stamped "STERLING" in the runout area. It was pressed at United Record Pressing, indicated by an etched ⓤ, which is a little letter "u" inside a circle. My copy sounds wonderful, so I'd like to suggest that negative reviews might be referring to a different version.

Found a sealed copy but pressing quality is terrible, Rehab is unplayable. One of the worst pressed albums I have the misery of owning!
-
Great album, terrible pressing. Noisy and poorly mastered. I recommend getting a different pressing.
