Can’t really understand all the negative reviews here. Mine sounds great - both sides - and the mono format is a great fit for this recording. Really happy with this one.

My vinyl album sounds very well done. Super quiet and the mono playback ( in mono) brings the softness and trio feel forward into the listening space unapologetically.
I'm happy I picked it up--- originally for a friend but I ended up with it. Lucky me.
Glad there are still copies available -- very reasonably--- for those who want to still purchase. -
Edited one year agoThis is the same material being released for the thousandth time. If you have any of the Village Vanguard incarnations you don't need this. Record Store Day needs to go away

This release sounds really nice. Side two is not bad at all. It has a bit of what sounds like transmission line bleed over, but is hard to hear, just as B1 starts . The music is really good, great performances, nice quiet, flat pressing and comes with a booklet.
I recommend getting this if you are a fan of Bill Evans music. -
Edited one year agoSurprised no ones mentioned that this is Mono. Stereo is much more immersive and realistic for live stuff, I'll skip this on one.

Edited one year agoNo issues here! Quiet, flat, beautiful sounding record. Happy we got the physical booklet this time around.
-
5 stars for the music. 4 stars for the sound quality on side A. One star for sound quality on side B - a lot of digital, high end noise and harsh high end.
Strange how professionels could let this - and how Bernie Grundman would put his name on it.
Disappointing.
Be prepared to only listen to side A. -
I found the first side more engaging audio-wise than the second. I think some are pickier than others — for me a new official Bill Evans release is a must-buy and this features a song he’s only played/recorded once in addition to his first ever recorded live Europe performances.

Edited one year agoMy copy has non fill on side b Round Midnight track. I heard at least 3 distorted zipper noises. How disappointing giving these crazy prices.
