Outstanding album! I never listen to it before this reissue. I don't have any other version to compare, but this one sounds dope!
That's I call an audiophile record. -
This has instantly become one of the more treasured records in my collection. The album is absolutely incredible, and this release is so good. In a better world maybe this album would be known as one of the best jazz albums of the 1960's. So good! The first track might surprise you with how ahead of its time it sounds.

A perfect reissue. The sound is phenomenal. The packaging is nice. The booklet is great. The extra takes are incredible. 11/10 release.

Easily one of the best sounding records in my collection - and the music is fascinating, too, while also being relaxing aaannnd just plain cool. So glad I went ahead and ordered this album!

I bought this item directly from Verve Records for $27.98 plus pretty reasonable shipping to Europe. I already had the black vinyl, so was curious to listen to this one.
Frankly speaking, I think this clear vinyl is actually quieter than the black vinyl. The record arrived totally safe and sound too, in decent packaging.
This re-issue sounds fantastic. Don't hesitate to buy it. I own an original promo pressing, and in all fairness, this re-issue beats it (but not by much). It's a real treat to get the 2nd record and the booklet too. So little information was available on this recording until this release. -
Edited 6 months agoA wonderful deep dive into the galaxy of Afro Harping. Very little noise on my pressing, the sound is warm and bright. Nice little
Booklet with great notes and photos. With the never-before-released takes on the second disc, this is a must have for any serious Dorothy Ashby fan.
