Notes

This edition has a mould SID code on the clear plastic hub area of the disc, and it has the "Printed in Canada" emblem on the inserts.
An edition with no such emblem exists (Dirty Epic / Cowgirl).
A presumably first edition with the emblem but without SID codes also exists (Dirty Epic / Cowgirl).

The release combines the singles Dirty Epic with two other previously released tracks.

Although tracks 3 and 6 are printed as "Album Versions" with their dubnobasswithmyhean durations of 9:56 and 8:29, respectively, their actual durations on this release (and on other editions of the "Dirty Epic" and "Cowgirl" singles) are about 9:52 and 8:57. This is because here, unlike on the album, they're not segued. On the album, a sustained chord and an additional sequence begins at the end of "Dirty Epic" and continues into the beginning of "Cowgirl".

Track 2 is the full version with the ending featuring a sample of Akira (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) = アキラ. This was omitted on later re-releases of the track.

The first pressing of this was marketed via sticker to be a "Maxi-Single" by TVT Records. The band regards this release to be an "EP".

Some copies included a "Got Wax Trax!?" postcard.

Love this in its entirety. At moments theres a Ashra aka Manuel Gottsching lick going on here and there on guitar and synth. Its hypnotic and trancey but in the psyctrance mindset but just minimalist and almost Berlin-school.
By far the music Underworld made in the 90s was progressive and one could tell they where enjoying themselves making these tracks. Its light and moving without being overly pompous impetuous club grade electronica a perfect mix of aesthetics draws from more than just the 4/4 mindset!

This disc gives you three great tracks from Dubnobasswithmyhean, along with some so-so remixes.

The two retakes of "Dirty Epic" strike an awkward balance between bouncy techno and the conflicted lyrics of the album version. They're decent, but don't stack up.
Similarly, the "Cowgirl" mixes lack the original's claustrophobic energy. "Irish Pub" is nice enough, but rather directionless. "Winjer mix" doesn't distinguish itself, and could almost be a different song entirely.

Despite the flaws, this release still worth picking up if you can get it for a bargain. It may be sub-par Underworld, but it's still better than most of the cheesy electronica out there.

"Dirty Epic" remains one of my favorite tracks ever. Period. That being said, the mixes of it that comprise a good portion of this single don't even come close to its mastery, eschewing some of its best elements. The "Cowgirl" mixes offer some redemption, as do the bonus tracks "Rez" and "River of Bass". For completists only.
