I too was blown away by this LP. A phenomenal blend of jazz and blues. Blue Mitchell is sensational and the addition of John Mayall on harp is a wonderful surprise. If you like this one, it might be worth checking out John Mayall’s Jazz Blues Fusion which features Blue on trumpet. It too is a terrific album!

I was totally blown away by this album. It's one of my favourites ever. I dont think Blues has ever been blended with Jazz and Funk as succesfully as this. The last track "I didn't ask to be" is the standout for me. You'll see John mayall on the credits. Blue Mitchell went to play for him on some of his albums around 71 to 73. In the middle of that Blue must've invited him on to this session. Just incredible chemistry and feel between the musicians.
