First Japanese issue. The 1972 black/red obi was followed in 1973 by two variations of the "Glam Rock" obi (pink, then orange) and in 1975 by a further "Glam Rock" obi (white/red). 1974 saw a red/black variation of the original obi, followed by a black and pink design in 1976. All of these issues carry the same RCA-6050 catalogue number.
The album was recorded at Trident Studios, London, 9 July 1971 - 4 February 1972 using material from the sessions for the previous album 'Hunky Dory' ('It Ain't Easy', July 9, 1971), all other tracks being recorded between November 8, 1971 and February 4, 1972.
Includes four page insert with liner notes in Japanese and lyrics in English.
Note the sleeve states "Manufactured by Victor Musical Industries, Inc., Tokyo, Japan", while the labels state "Manufactured by Victor Company of Japan, Ltd., Yokohama, Japan".

This was the first vinyl I owned. It was a gift from a neighbor because he knew I had named my dog "Ziggy" after David Bowie had ed. I had no idea what I had been given. Five years and hundreds of vinyls later I realize what a treasure this is. It has no obi and the sleeve is beaten up, but the actual record is in great shape and holy smokes does it sound amazing! If you are lucky enough to come across one, get it.
