This is the one & only version I have ever known; 1st copy done to death in the age of 'chuck the record on & slam', 2nd one I knew I had to treat like a Princess!! And that I did; it NEVER comes out after a few drinks with friends round...
Extra tracks? Was not the original line up so not fussed.
Remastered reissue? When you put on this original 91' record, it jumped out the speakers like 'BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM'!
I got all I need right here, the greatest Jazz Hip- Hop album of all time. A timeless, endless love affair. -
Edited one year agoCan anyone shed light on a version I’ve just picked up. It states HIP 117, but the single record is marbled orange, has plain white inner sleeve (not the picture sleeve) and has a poster included. Nothing etched on runout other than ‘lowend A and B’, with S.G initials. Artwork quality is good and sharp and sound quality seems okay on initial listen. Can’t see any reference of a coloured reissue, has anyone any idea? It’s in mint condition which suggests to me a new, perhaps bootleg/unofficial version? Any help appreciated.

I’ve only heard the 91’ UK and it’s phenomenal. I regret selling my copy every time I get the itch for some Tribe. The press is fantastic as far as the sound dynamic. This album will blow your house down if you got a decent set of speakers.

Oooooof!
Still one of the best of all time.
Just incredible, just one listen to tracks like ‘buggin’ out’ you can see why these guys were top of the tree…
Twisting language and music to create a new language. Salute’ -
Edited 4 years agoWooooooowwwwww this record is just Epic, in 2021 still one of the best hip hop albums ever, quality of this pressing is one of the best you will find, rich full bass, all the layers in the spectrum are well placed, sounds great from bottom end till top. "It's like butter baby". Overall rank 152 in best ever albums.

Edited 2 years agoThis OG 1991 version is two tracks shorter than the re-issues from 1996 and onwards. Both ”Vibes and Stuff” and ”Skypager” is missing. The later was luckily included on the Check The Rhime 12 inch. The former however is sorely missed.
