Edited one year agoNomads, a vibrant Afro-diasporic ensemble hailing from Detroit, Michigan, presents their debut album "Unity," a mesmerizing fusion of pan-African rhythms and melodies. Released independently, this album is a captivating journey through reggae, soul, funk, and dub influences, seamlessly interwoven to create a rich tapestry of sound.
So far the 2023 surprise of the year along with Truckin' is the band Nomads. Got hooked up on it by the cover. And anytime I decided to buy a copy, it already cost more than before. So I decided to buy it for almost three times the price I've seen it first [Facepalm]. Nonetheless as my friend XY said today. This is one album if my flat is on fire I am going back for it and then running away.
The Nomads band is super strong together achieving the highest possible musical outcome. Best Free Nelson Mandela song out of any I heard so far. Lot's of dub arrangements in the tracks. Funk mood all over. Reggae and African vibe here and there. Finishing with a Funk Rock masterpiece. This album never gets boring. Every song unique and a masterpiece on its own.
And the cover I would include in any TOP 10 cover list, even if you would wake me up midnight.
