I buying this for like 6 bucks at an actual Best Buy store in '16. I think they stopped selling CDs less than 2 years later.

Edited 4 years agoWhew, this was a heavy listen. Lots of gutteral screaming that Jonathan does very well. There are parts in most of the tracks where the "Korn groove" is readily apparent, but this isn't music you just put on to have a listen. This is for destruction or a vigorous workout. It hearkens back to the style of their first album. Did My Time is the most accessible track here, but it's less aggressive than the rest of the tracks found here.

Not much to be found in of creativity - this is the sound Korn's established since their 94 debut. It's heavy and that's about all you get from what most consider the last decent album by Korn. Good for a listen every now and then when you're angry but ultimately nothing worth obsessing over as Korn has much better releases that came prior to this one. It's not awful, just not that impressive either.

Edited 12 years agoThe fifth album of Korn, named "Untouchables" was a very different Korn as we all know. The vocals were melodies, the music was way softer and the tracks were manipulated by their record label. After that album Korn decided to do an album without listening to what the record labels want. The result is "Take A Look In The Mirror", which is rougher, harder, lower and way better to my opinion than that previous album!
The only thing you miss a little is the emotional screams Jonathan Davis usually gets out his throath! And the dvd is not that special unfortunatelly!
And what about the tracklist?
A revival of the track "Alive" (which was originally on their very first 1993 demo tape "Neidermeyers Mind") which is Korn in their purest and original form!
The deep sounds of "Counting On Me" makes me shiver every time! And "Y'all Want A Single (Say Fuck That!)" clearly leaves a message for the manipulating record companies! And then the track for the movie "Tomb Raider: The Cradle Of Life" called "Did My Time"!
All and all a great renewing album from Korn!
