Edited 3 months agoJust did a shootout with the '22 boxset.
The box is nice but - no, not at all that close despite the pedigree - the OG is superior. Wider soundstage, more life, more beauty. Definitive. -
Trying to find catologuing info for 2022 pressing on solid white vinyl, probably 180gm (it’s heavy). Anyone familiar?

Very happy I chanced upon this one when I popped into a new to me record store. I had to pick it up and I'm delighted at what a great sounding record it is.

After reading the reviews, I was expecting nothing less than absolute excellence. My copy of this fantastic album did not disappoint. Dynamic and realistic with no surface noise, pops, or crackles to speak of, this is release is a testament to the unwavering quality of music on vinyl. Truly, Yankee Hotel Foxtrot has always been an audiophile's album thanks to its amazing recording quality, and here we get all that great nuance, subtle detail and three-dimensional soundscape in spades, all rounded out with a sonic presentation that seems to reach in all directions infinitely. You need to own this.

A bit confused here... My copy was purchased on amazon last year and the runouts (mostly) match this release. Also, it doesn’t have a tip-on jacked nor a cd. On my copy, however, Pot Kettle Black fades out like on CD rather than the extended ending as mentioned in the description. Anyone else’s have the same?

Edited 4 years agofantastic quality. the Pressing is dead flat and quiet alongside with the sleeve I have to say this one of the more sophisticated Vinyl releases out there packed with arguably the finest Wilco tunes out there....

Really love this pressing. I bought it over 10 years ago but finally got around to listening to it in detail. I made a nice recording from it too. The measured dynamic range (DR12) is higher than the original CD/Digital releases (DR9). There's a few tracks on the CD that have better mixes (in my opinion), they have a slightly higher degree of separation. But overall the LP wins for sure. Jesus, Etc sounds less "muted", the vocals and violin pop out a bit more on the LP version vs the CD.
-
Very nice sounding pressing--Sundazed and Nonesuch both know what they're doing. Good packaging and artwork, but this is a direct-print gatefold sleeve on cardstock, so it won't be very durable.

Flat, no pops or clicks, good separation. Excellent pressing. Sounds like they're playing in the room.
