Edited 6 years agopersonally I like their mix CD's in the early volumes. After all, it IS Blank & Jones, not a lame rush job done by some junior mixer commissioned by a big record company! It can be a lifesaver at a gig, radio show, or club when you have to take a restroom break, deal with a pushy manager or client's issue, or in case there is some emergency or crowd disruption involving personal safety. Or it's early and your club is dead and you don't feel like playing to the bartenders.
However, with vol. 9 we get an entire extra disc of rarities the earlier sets didn't offer. What's a girl to do? -

Edited 11 years agoI have about 20 thousand 70s and 80s disco/soul/funk/synthpop/new wave tracks and I was happy to find more than a couple of 12 inches I did not yet have in cd quality (only vinylrips).
I also like the fact this time we get 3 UNMIXED cd's - what is the point of mixing the tracks as they did in earlier volumes, when original 80s mixes abound?
Anyway, I hope this series will continue for a long time! Just as Dance Classics of Rodeo Media and the Grand 12 Inches, a great way to get rare 12 inches in good quality!
