You know Capitol gets poor reviews for their Beatles pressings but I have two of their Revolver pressings including this one and they sound fantastic.

Edited 3 years agoEven though my copy is VG it is astounding. Groove noise is pretty limited to the lead in wax and in between tracks. I have had this since 1976 when I was a kid and took care of it...so the "bad sounds" are from the original owner. None the less it is quite awesome. I have listened to this pressing for the last time today. So I have been very critical. The Capitol sound gets a bad rap..BUT....listening to this vinyl gave me some chills. The bass guitar in Taxman is amazing...its like you have PM standing right in the room (keep in mind I am a bassist who also records). Overall the entire pressing has a balance and presence to it that makes certain aspects just amazing. The Vocals and the bass guitar especially. My Japanese copy has more detail and more presence. Actually the 2012 version has a similar sound to this minus the Capitol mixing. That being said...I will miss you old friend.

My runouts match this entry but the only difference is the sleeve doesn’t have the sentence underneath the bottom paragraph on the back about playing with stereo needles. possibly the owner just switched the jackets with a different pressing?
