Reminds me of sitting in my VW Beetle having a laugh with my mates when I should've actually been studying for my A levels. Huge rave tune!

I'd say that "Keep the Fire Burning" is one of the greatest Hardcore tracks ever. I know about it thanks to my brother, because he's mad about all things Hardcore, and this happens to be his favourite song. The riff and vocal are simply iconic, slowly building up into a "cut the midrange, drop the bass!" vocal... and then BOOM. Probably my favourite part is the bit with the Eurythmics vocal, it's just beautiful, and combined with the rest of the song, makes for a timeless anthem.
Conversely, "Get On Up" is the most insignificant Hardcore track I've ever heard. The main riff is absolutely huge, but it's massively overshadowed by the rest of the song which kind of just... exists. It doesn't know what to do with itself, and ends up repeating most of the way through, with little variation. A lot more could've been done with it, but I still enjoy it, in an ironic kind of way.
This record is absolutely worth it for the A-side alone. If you're up for a laugh, put on the B-side and smile the whole way through! -
Is it me or do others think the synth on "Keep the Fire Burning" sounds really similar to UR's Jupiter Jazz? Anyways great 12".

Edited 2 years agoTwo great tracks on this 12", "Keep The Fires Burning" classic Hardcore and probably the better know of the two tracks, but "Get On Up" was also a big tune, it's that synth riff just huge when it drops into the driving percussion / breaks.

Edited 3 years agoKeep the fire burning outstanding track and production loved playing it back in the golden days. B side not so outstanding could have been wayyy better imho.

The way 'Keep the Fire Burning' opens up into the Annie Lenox vocal and the key change in the donk is pretty special IMHO It also makes sense of the more agressive sounds in the rest of the track. You gotta' love it !

Cracking tune and one I'm pleased to have in my collection. However my version of this is in a paper sleeve with the Production House logo and says "Official DJ Copy". Anyone else got a copy like this?

The best thing The House Crew ever released under this alias, in my opinion before or since. Both sides absolute slamming classics. Although their other guise The Beginning is also an equal contender. 1991 was an all round special era.
