Edited 8 months agoIf you EVER come across this album - GRAB IT! It’s absolutely fantastic!! Never heard Santana this psychedelic and spiritual!
Both Santana and McLaughlin released this album with the backing of their respective bands, Santana and The Mahavishnu Orchestra inspired by the teachings of 70s ‘guru’ Sri Chinmoy.
The album is intended as a tribute to John Coltrane and contains two Coltrane compositions, two McLaughlin songs and a traditional gospel song arranged by Santana and McLaughlin.
Completely radical and stunning! Movingly beautiful, exhilarating and undeniably spiritual!! -
Also found crate digging and dropped on the turntable mainly due to the unusual pattern look of the grooves across the vinyl. Well, I'm stuck between is this brilliant or is just self-indulgence at it's best ;-) worth a listen either way! -
This record is bloody amazing man! Found it today while crate digging and I don't understand I've never heard this one before. Completely blown away. This must be Santana's most psyched out one. Love it!
