Notes

Released in a Tri-fold sleeve with embossed text and ELP logo on the front cover.

Back cover code: K80009 (SD2-7000).
Spine code: K 80009 Ⓢ

Note:
The UK release of Works Volume 1 had white labels, with two different, chronologically coexistent, code patterns. It also had at least two different kinds (or sets) of etched handwriting on matrices.

Considering the code patterns on labels, pattern #1 had cataformation in this order (Side A used as example):
K 80009 (bold text)
(SD2-7000)
K 80009 A

Label pattern #2 had a different order and made use of an asterisk:
K 80009
K 80009A*
(SD 2-7000)

A copy could have all sides based on label pattern #1, all sides based on label pattern #2, or hybrid combinations as well (for instance, disc one with one of those patterns, disc two with the other; or sides A and C with one of them, sides B and D with the other; or three sides with one, the remaining side with the other).

This release: label pattern #1 on side A, B and C; label pattern #2 on side D; etched handwriting #1 on all matrices.

The label design cannot be used to indicate an earlier or a later copy of this album.

Greg Lakes vocals remind my of David Brent from the office.

It has occurred to me that the co-production credit to C. Palmer / G. Lake on Track C5 of the UK pressings (K 80009) is an error by the record company. It should have been Track C6 because Greg Lake was the producer of the original recording of "Tank" and listeners with keen ears will recognise that the second half of the track is a remix of the original recording.
