Edited 3 months agoThe ''Time To Get Ill'' track of the original EP here, and the remix of ''Where's The Boy'' from the remixes EP (RIVET 1216 R) ,are the best 4-Hero tracks ever made, and the only 2 tracks from them written on the Belgian techno rave style, with hoovers and T99-Anasthasia like stabs.
Worth having both releases (RIVET 1216 & RIVET 1216R) just for these 2 masterpieces alone. -
This for me was probably 4 Hero's strongest EP, with every single track featured hitting that sweet spot perfectly. From the sheer speed-freak manicness of "Cooking Up Yah Brain", the chilled, loved up vibe of "Burning" to the harsh stabs and hip-hop fusion of "Time To Get Ill" (that jarring, vibrating stab is pure brilliance!) and shameless pilfering of Talking Heads" bassline in "Where's The Boy".
It's a no brainer to pick this up, and it's equally great remix EP if vintage breakbeat hardcore is your forte. Seriously good 1992 Reinforced Records stuff. -
IWorth mentioning that Burnin samples The Jets "Crush On You" acapella made dancefloor-famous by Alan Braxe "Intro"
-
I'll say something then, when i first heard Cooking Up Ya Brain i instantly loved it and it was different, it sits on Reinforced Records and is Produced by Marc Mac and Dego, enough already, the whole twelve is superb.

People really do make their own prices up, regardless of the sales history when it comes to flogging well known classics. This really isn't worth almost a grand. For the stampers maybe, yeh.
