So I bought my copy in @ 1992. So I can't believe it was sitting in the store bin new for 12 years! I bought the Japanese box cd set when I lived there. So I have never played the vinyl because I had the CDs. But I checked everything and it's the US 1980 smooth cover. So I guess that's my "Grail". I also have the US closer unplayed. I seldom get to gloat these days. Let me enjoy myself.

Edited one year agoi have just the cover of this pressing. if anyone is interested in replacing their worn out cover with a VG one feel free to message!

I found this in a second hand vinyl shop for 20$ in Massachusetts welfare records. Cover is in bad shape but the record plays near flawless. What an experience. This band is legendary, and this record showcases the early sounds of a revolutionary spirit. This is the pressing you want

I've had this for a long time, but had it displayed in one of those wall frames. I took it out this past weekend and listened to it and it was mind blowing awesome. My go-to pressing now.

What can you say about this classic? I would love to hear a UK first issue but have never crossed paths with one. However, the quality of these first US issues is outstanding. I bought my copy used in the early 90s. I also have the 2019 issue which is nice but doesn't deliver to the same degree as this first issue.

I believe I have this First US smooth version, although seller sold it as the 87 repress, but it doesn’t have the barcode on the back cover and has “I’ve been looking for a guide.“ in the runout. Anyway, sounds phenomenal, glad I got this instead of the new reissue.

I bought this record in 86 or 87 and can't believe it went without purchase for years since its pressing in 80. I think I've played it 5-6 times now since then. It plays dead quiet, but does have scuffs. What a fabulous record that I appreciate much more now that I'm in my 50's.
