I have listened to several pressings of this album now, and this one has taken the crown spot. The masters are just simply better than what Giles did, and they sound very *very* close to originals, but better. Nuff said. If you can find this in the wild, you're lucky, or if you are considering getting a specific version, look no further. Stop here. Clean, flat, heavy discs with great sound.

I was going to get the remixed 3 LP version, but in the Beatles section, a brand new, mint, shrinkwrapped version of this one awaited me, probably on the shelf since 2014 for half the price. (Actually, it was probably backdoor stock someone found and put it out). So I took this 2014 2LP version instead. Running it right now, and indeed, the sound is great, all analog AAA cutting that even manages to beat my excellent Japanese red vinyl copy from years back (and believe me, the japanese KICKS!). Now I tracked down in another store stock a copy of the Blue 2014 version. Will pick it tomorrow, so see you in that section!

Amazing sound quality all around except for She Loves You, the edits are more present than ever and kinda ruin the song for me

Edited 11 months agoThis is the first time I bought a compilation album. I am not a fan of compilations but I bought this purely because of its AAA mastering and it’s hard to get some of the tracks in the Capitol pressings of the records they are originally from as I am from Canada (example: Drive My Car missing from Rubber Soul Capitol pressing). Also, finding some of these songs in true stereo is also difficult (example: I used to have a Capitol pressing of Help! where Ticket To Ride sounded absolutely horrible because of the fake stereo/duophonic stereo).
This is one of the best sounding records I own. The soundstage and the punch on this is on a different level. The presence is so good that it feels like Lennon is singing in my listening room. Also Ringo’s percussion/drums details are so good that I have a whole new level of respect for him (I always did).
I cannot praise this re-issue enough. I will forever cherish listening to this and having this part of my collection will bring me all the joy in the world.

No noisy parts of which the blue one has its few, this pressing is absolutely marvelous, from packaging to sound which is absolutely perfect. Always loved the later songs a bit more (the ones of the blue one), but suddenly I love these same way, due to this great listening experience and detailed packaging with lyrics sheet and a short essay. Buy with confidence!!

Found my copy in my LRS. Word is: the Canadian version has a digital stereo or is sourced from digital. But still says an analogue. Not sure how to confirm.

I found this exact copy today at a Barnes and Noble in Houston. Definitely pressed by Record Industry and from 2014. Made in Netherlands sticker.
Sounds fantastic and honestly...”love me do”
”she loves you” and “I want to hold your hand” are the songs that sound MONO to me on this pressing. Just my opinion -
