I think I’m lucky because my copy sounds amazing, without any defect like reported before by the other friend. Yes theres some background noise but it’s because of the low quality of raw material. Compared to the uk I would say it’s very close. Being the UK 10/10, this Brazilian would be 9/10. The sound is surprisingly good! -
Edited 4 years agoA very disapointing pressing. I have two NM to VG+ copies of this release and they both have the same problem: while the A side has an excellent sound, detailed and with a lot of bass, the B side has a lot of distortion and surface noise from start to finish. That's a shame considering that it is the very first brazilian pressing and the second Pink Floyd album released in Brazil at the time. The runout groove etching in both copies is SHVL-795-A for the A side and SHVL-795-B2 for the B side. I prefer listening to the a less preserved 1985 Fonobrás pressing copy because of this problem, even if it has a less detailed and less prominent bass sound.
Uma prensagem muito decepcionante. Tenho duas copias, de NM para VG+ dessa edição e ambas tem o mesmo problema: enquanto que o lado A tem um som excelente, detalhado e com bastante grave, o lado B the muita distorção e chiadeira do começo ao fim. É uma vergonha considerando que se trata da primeirissima prensagem brasileira e do segundo album do Pink Floyd lançado no Brasil naquela época. Os "runout groove etching" nas duas cópias são SHVL-795-A para no lado A e SHVL-795-B2 no lado B. Eu acabo preferindo uma cópia bem menos preservada da prensagem de 1985 da Fonobrás por causa desses problemas, mesmo que ela seja menos detalhada e com menos baixo prominente.
