Edited one year agoMine has the light green apple, EMI on label and -1 on all four sides. This is the real thing.
Nothing compares. And yes, I've got the 2014 and the 1982 japanese ones -
I have a copy of the missing EMI credits on both Lps. My copy does not have the poster with it and I'm trying to find out what is printed on the poster to identify it to their respective releases. This entry does not show the poster image (!) and the entry for the version I have shows an images but so low res that I can't make out any detail on the image. Can anyone share the identifiers on their posters to match it the their release? Thanks.

So I was lucky enough to find of these for sale and purchased on a whim. I have a 2014 mono reissue and used to prefer the stereo mix as I found the 2014 a bit held back although very crisp and detailed.
This -1 cut though wow! This is the real deal. Maybe less clarity and fidelity than 2014 edition, however it's just got that bit of oomph and more raw energy thats missing on the newer one. I love it. If you can find one, get it. -

There is a lot of Identifiers listed above. I think there is no need to do that:
At nine oclock there are the mother-, at three oclock there are the stamper codes:
EMI used the code G R A M O P H L T D
G=1 R=2 A=3 M=4 O=5 P=6 H=7 L=8 T=9 D=0
So only mother/stampers differ with a lot of the shown variations. -
I do have both mono versions (with and without EMI text). But the one with the missing EMI credits is also missing the EMI credits (and the printing credits for Garrod and Lofthouse) on the collage poster as well. Do all LPs with the missing EMI credit on the label having no EMI credit on the poster as well? Maybe somebody knows...?
(sorry for the double post) -
Edited 3 years agoThe with or without "An E.M.I. Recording” DOES NOT indicate a "first pressing" of the records themselves, just the labels. Apparently, they pressed up a bunch without "An EMI Recording," caught the error, added it and pressed more labels. These labels were affixed to the records, but it's common to have records with matrix numbers indicating a very early pressing but with the "An EMI Recording." Or copies with "An EMI Recording" on some or all of the labels with a cover has a lower number than some that don't have the "An EMI Recording" -- there were stacks of labels, records, and covers being assembled in different orders. "First Pressing" should refer only to the matrix numbers on the runouts.

I have this in mono numbered 0077*** I thought I'd placed it but it has the "Sold in the UK subject to resale price conditions see price lists" on all four sides. Any clues, please?

I have had this '68 album in UK mono and stereo pressings , and a US stereo pressing . Mono pressings for me . I sold my stereo
copies . But everyone has their own ears and preferences. I prefer the earlier Beatles albums like Help! in mono too. They sound more even and natural to me. I love Rubber Soul , but the good pressings for that album is more complicated. -
I just bought a very nice copy from a Discogs seller and found a 5x8 inch promo flyer inside of my copy that is very cool - it shows a drawn picture of all four Beatles at the top, a short narrative announcing the new double record in the middle, and gives the complete track listing at the bottom. It looks legit and wondering if anyone else has this or knows anything about it?
