Pretty good press, flat with minimal surface noise. Agree with others, mix and mastering are a bit muffled. I added a touch of treble and it helped. But overall could have been better. In the end it’s still a cool record to have, but go in with low expectations.

Watch out collectors! Tons of cheap recent reissues are sold here as 200 gram pressing but don't be fooled, ask for pics of either the 200 gram hype sticker or of the card with 2016 expiration date otherwise you'll be getting a 180 gram later reissue....

Edited 2 years agoA possible new repress has popped up with no code, no stickers on front, Made in Canada sticker on the back, 180g vinyl, with insert in paper inner sleeve.

This mastering and pressing sounds very good to my ears. The production is dated (as is the case for many albums from this period) but I feel like it’s a more well-rounded mastering effort - not as hot and fatiguing as the original pressing was. I am also missing the inner sleeve. I’ve sent a request for one.

My copy sounds great, very clean audio. I have no idea if the 200g pressing makes any difference, but I don't have any complaints with this one. Like most (everyone?), my insert was missing, but I sent one email to [email protected] asking for the insert and included my address, and the replacement was shipped the next day without needing any back-and-forth with them. And yes, it shipped in those amazing record mailers, lots of cardboard and bubble wrap for one piece of paper lol.

Not a great pressing in my opinion. It’s acceptable. But not great.
Although to be fair, I’m not sure if it’s the pressing or the remaster. But something just sounds so thin compared to the original. Not sure what happened. All these other 200g Rush pressings are great. Not sure where this one went wrong.
Highly recommend people skip this one and grab an original pressing instead. Nothing beats that warm original mix. -
This was never a very dynamic record but pressing sounds just fine to my ears. While not one of their greats still enjoy Hold Your Fire.

Edited 3 years agoMy copy sounds a little flat. Not very dynamic. Didn’t notice that it was a RE when I picked it up. Got it used and the previous owner had it in a generic sleeve so +1 on the sleeve thing.

I love this album.
The sound was pretty good and I enjoyed it.
It also lacked the inner sleeves. As suggested here I sent them a mail a week ago and I hope they'll reply. -
Not a good sounding pressing, sounds muddy and kind of distorted, and song vary in volume, last tracks on each side start to sound lower and distorted, for the price its selling now i dont think its worth it, i would look for an old pressing instead
