Afraid of their newfound hype following the success of their previous Soma release, Da Funk, Daft Punk sought out an alias to release their next single while working on their debut album and touring.
Indo Silver Club is two tracks cut from the same cloth with completely different vibes with A being more Detroit and B straight up Chicago.
A1 is what happens when disco meets Robert Hood minimalism. The samples are cut in a way to mimic a lot of the discordant stabs and arps present in a lot of Hood’s work (Rhythm of Vision, Unix) and creates a chaotic mood.
B’s undoubtably an homage to Relief records. The pounding drums, distorted synth line, looped disco sample; coupled with a healthy dose of thick, pumping compression, French style. This’ll make even the stiffest person tap their foot.
A solid single with something for everyone -
