I Fucking Love Black Flag. This is the only album i never had from them (not even counting that BS from a few years ago). I've always thought their last 2 studio albums were lacking. at least In My Head has a couple killer songs. Loose Nut is just horrible. I guess they had a great run. I like all 4 singers this band had. Henry Rollins is my least favorite singer and my least favorite era of the band. But My War & Slip It In are great albums. All their early singles & Everything Went Black double album comp have always been my favorite. Such a classic hardcore punk band!!! Misfits, Black Flag, MDC, Minor Threat....so much amazing music!!!

Which vinyl version is the best one to get? It seems the sound on later pressings is really bad

How or why Black Flag turned into this after My War & Family Man is a mystery. By this point Black flag started to flirt with an almost metal sound, with an album drenched in reverb and overproduction. Not to say that this is a bad thing, but many would argue that while Black Flag made an amazing punk & hardcore band, they didn't make such a great metal band. The tracks on Loose Nut are tight, mid tempo, and sometimes catchy, but a complete departure from the Black Flag's previous sound, one which they never returned to, not that they were ever a band of consistency in the first place. If the evolution from Jealous... to Damaged worked, the evolution from My War to Loose Nut just didn't.

I think that my copy is a repress of the recording. I bought it in March 2013 and it was still sealed. It had no insert sheets and was the standard orange label and black vinyl.
