ALL of the Gas albums are currently being reissued by Kompakt separately---including everything in this box

To finally have this on vinyl is a complete joy and as I sit here, only just starting Konigsforst, it's my favourite vinyl experience so far. Sounds so much better than the previous ways I've experienced this ethereal perfection.

Thank you to the person on eBay selling a mint copy of this to me recently. Spellbinding stuff, timeless as well. <3

Anyone have the outer box only that they are willing to sell?

When I asked about getting a replacement for my poorly pressed copy of Königforst from the Box, Kompakt let me know individual releases of the 3xLP albums will be coming next year.

Does anyone else's Box smell a bit funny? Or is it just me?

Wonderful experience hearing these on vinyl - depth of sound is amazing. Aside from a couple of loud (unintentional) pops on Oktember it all sounds clean and open. Packaging is okay - Good, sturdy, attractive box. The art book is a bit of a let down unfortunately and I would agree that - despite being nicely bound and well presented - the art work itself is nothing special with the images appearing to be rendered using a basic watercolour/impressionistic Photoshop filter. It would have been better to have had something more akin to the music - in fact the original photographs would have been an improvement, with perhaps some subtle layers/digital manipulation - a mixture of hand rendered and digital. With regards to sleeves: I changed mine to poly-lined option as I was concerned that the vinyl would get scuffed using those supplied (not great) In summary: Recommended despite flaws - for the quality of sounds alone. 9/10 for pressing quality, 7/10 for packaging etc.

Hearing these albums on vinyl, cranked up on headphones, reveals so much I’ve never heard. Unreal. 10/10

Now I've had the proper time to absorb these albums I can say that it's a 10/10 for me. Not saying much as I already have a 10/10 for the originals. But, after numerous listens the Gas Box offers new sometimes hidden moments to classic tracks heard hundreds of times. Just sublime beautiful music. About the packaging: the box itself is ok. Heavy cardboard covered in a texture (tho, it's easy to get dirty). The album sleeves are ok. I have the originals and have compared them. I assume since it's been years since they came out the originals are of lower quality. Hence some of the "photoshop blurring". Understandable. The black inner sleeves are pretty lame. They easily attract finger prints and look cheep. They should have just used professional black sleeves with poly lining. The label stickers are also lame. They should have A, B, C etc...on them like Narkopop and they should be in color! Kompakt saving a buck in the end. The "art" book had potential but utterly fails. The book looks cheap and the photos are so filtered with that boring photoshop crap it's old after page one. The Pop Ambinet covers are a million times better and they aren't that cool. Over all I'm happy to have. I don't play the originals anymore and now have a complete set with longer takes. Music: A+. Art: C
