Iron Maiden – Piece Of Mind

I only have the 2015 reissue of this to compare to, but this Canadian Harvest green label is way more detailed and dynamic and an enjoyable experience. Very thick and detailed midrange. Could use just a touch more bass. I still prefer Powerslave as the peak of their music and production, but this is an excellent pressing though not a gatefold.

Why does the 1st pressing A1U-1, B1U-1 not have the utopia lyre symbol etched? Was it not mastered at Utopia studios? Does it mean the other pressings that contain the utopia lyre symbol sound better than the 1st pressing?

It sounds good! It has a few cracks even after washing, but oberwll is very good. HQ 180g pressing, 4⭐️+

Definitely the best pressing of the album. Sounds absolutely amazing. Very punchy bass, drums, clean highs. Wonderful dynamic. Pure masterpiece.
Get this pressing while it is still possible to find it in a decent condition and relatively affordable price. Which will not be cheap but it’s worth every penny.

Just awesome. Sounds huge, with a crystal clear mix. Bruce vocals are perfect here not jacked up like in later remixes, but Nickos drums really just sound fantastic. IMHO, the highlight of this thing.

This is among the worst 2024 CB cuts, along with Killers. Go for an original instead.

Arguably their heaviest
This maiden classic is my favorite by them. Maybe because i heard it before Powerslave, maybe due to some other subjective factors.. Anyway, in my opinion it contains minimum to none fillers, the music is heaviest of all the 80s releases, poetry is absolutely fantastic (based on history, literature, mythology, cinema etc). Bruce's voice is in it's zenith, harmonics and cooperation between the guitar players is productive as it can get while Harris factor, playing and songwriting take the legend to the top.
P.S. If you can get both singles with amazing 'Cross Eyed Mary" cover and rocking 'I've Got Fire' (which I call the sped up take on Deep Purple's 'Black Night').

One of - if not THE fattest sounding classic Iron Maiden albums already with symphonic composing but still hard and direct in your face like „Iron Maiden“ and „Killers“ have been before. But here they come with the young Bruce Dickinson on the microphone. My personal favorite!
