The Jam – Snap!

Fabulous anthology of The Jam, over 90 minutes of music, one outstanding song after another. 40 years after release, this remains an ideal introduction to the group. "Thick As Thieves" isn't repeated on my copy, "Eton Rifles" is the lead track on C1. No issues with this pressing, the soundstage is punchy and vivid. My copy plays nice and clean for the most part, but there are skips on the first record during "English Rose" (a repeater), "David Watts", "Down In The Tube Station At Midnight" (a repeater), and "The Butterfly Collector". The second record plays beautifully, with almost no surface noise at all.

This is a beautiful the Jam compilation and sounds great. Here we have one of the best example of UK sound in the late 70s and very beginning of 80s.

Great album and pressing after initially returning my first copy. For some reason they package the 7" EP in the sleeve with the second disc. Obviously going to warp if it's stacked and pressured over time. The replacement I received was packed the same and again wasn't perfect but I can live with it. Just wish they'd apply some sense and care to packaging. If buying in a store I'd encourage you to open it and check there and then as it's clearly something that's going to be a common theme.

If ordered direct from Hip-O Select this set came with three small pin badges featuring the Jam, all different.

It’s by far the best presentation of this compilation which, in itself, might be the best overview of the bands career. It should also be borne in mind that when Hip-O Select put this out, the U.K. edition was a shonky one disc bastardisation, omitting several tracks in order to fit it onto a single cd. Needless to say, the four EP tracks were nowhere to be seen (or heard).

Just grabbed this from a crazy online sale for $8 shipped. $0 for the album, $8 for shipping. I’ve gotta say, not only is it an amazing compilation, it’s really well done…the EP is a great touch, sleeves/inners nicely made…flat discs with no QC issues and the sound is fantastic! Usually I’d seek out an OG but for that deal I decided why not. Very pleased.

There were copies of the EP issued that were mispressed and had front of the sleeve duplicated on the inside , not sure how many got through

Very happy with this pressing, it handles the long sides well, no sibilance on my setup, good bass definition, low noise floor when turned up.

One of the greatest hits collections, I finally found a UK copy out in the world that was in beautiful condition and still had shrink on the cover. Great collection with some single mixes, album cuts, and a definitive remix of Funeral Pyre.

Superb copy bought at Brighton record fair for £6 in nearly mint condition, then I acquired the ep for free , a great compilation from The Jam-

This is a great place to start for anyone interested in The Jam. Truly classic music.
