Various – Saturday Night Fever (The Original Movie Sound Track)

Brought this today, with 3 12" singles in a charity shop. For all of 5 quid! Sleeve's intact, but it's seen better days

I agree. The non-Bee Gees tracks are mostly a bit rubbish, but as a non-disco fan, not particularly bothered. A vast amount of disco mid-70's was poor

Some disco classics, some questionable additions and a poor quality pressing

The preeminent Disco Album. This album was hugely popular. I have two copies, One with the gate-fold and one without (which took forever to find in Discogs). Same discs and lineup.

Can anyone comment on the quality of this pressing? I love this color way and album and want to know if it’s worth replacing my 70s pressing

You wouldn't expect it, but there is some straight heat on this album. This album is worth getting, just for "Stayin Alive" and "You Should be Dancing"

Soundstage is not very impressive, unfortunately. Bought this before I knew a lot about the hobby/curse. It sounds like a CD, which isn't necessarily bad, just compressed and tight. Hindsight being 20/20, but I'd iike to compare an original copy with this. I bet the OG is wide open.

It’s honestly enjoyable to listen to :) I like the movie just as much as the soundtrack, of course. I think it’s interesting that a lowkey commentary of the late 70s New York somehow happens to have a soundtrack like this that if you blast it on vinyl, you’re in for that much of a sonic ride

Highlights: the obvious ones made by The Bee Gees, “Salsation”, “K-Jee”, Tavares’ cover of “More Than A Woman”, and “A Fifth of Beethoven”

That’s really all you have to pay attention to unless you’re an audacious musicaholic

P.S.: "Night on Disco Mountain" is a JAM

I would second the sole other review: sound quality is decent but not stellar. Lacks a bit on the bottom end. Enjoyable listen, though.

The MFSB track slaps, most underrated song on the album

Decent pressing. A little lacking on the bottom end. A fun album all around, though.
