Hank Mobley – Soul Station

Great mastering, pressing quality as mine is flat, quiet and dynamic. One of my favorite Jazz albums of all time and this one is a keeper.

Although the packaging is flimsy, the record sounds pretty good.

My pressing sounds great. Many of the BlueNote records have some pretty hard panning but it seems pretty normal. The music here is fantastic for a late night listening.

A great sounding pressing. Pathe pressings can be hit or miss. This one is a hit.

I bought this probably the day it came out in 2014, I probably haven’t spun it in 8 years , listening now and it sounds great… clear highs nice bass n drum, spacious , everything u want in a jazz record. Yes these 75th anniversary issues can suck, i bought a few but this title sounds great, cut by B Grundman helps I would imagine 😀 …def a buy !

The sound here is excellent, but the stereo mix is a bit awkward. I think mono would be preferable. As it stands, you get uncomfortable stretches where one instrument is soloing waaaaaaay off to the side.

Dynamics, detail, etc are all excellent, I just recommend a mono switch if you have one. I might need to get one.

One of my favorite jazz albums. Great music, accessible even for a relative jazz newbie like me. Highly recommended.

I can't really compare with other 'Soul Station' pressings but this one is just amazing. One of the best sounding/pressing records I ever heard.

I must have gotten incredibly lucky as this is an incredible pressing. I can’t imagine this sounding much better other than an OG Mono or asking KPG to recut it at 45? Stellar work for such a great price and the best sounding of the Blue Note Classics reissues in my collection so far.
