Baby D – Day Dreaming

The acapella of Day Dreaming was sampled to death by the UK Hardcore producers. Ray Keith remix of Orbital - Chime. House Crew - Keep the fire burnin. Manix - Head in the clouds. There are many more. The intro synth was also sampled in the Ray Keith remix of Let me be your fantasy.

Timeless tune form back in the day, my favorite period in Techno 1990/91 proper rave tune, hands in the air !
A side mix is best, B side drum samples looping / Tuning and time stretch is all over the place and not in time ! part of the charm I guess, but odd sounding today sounding like a DJ is not beat matching tunes right.

This is actually THE Baby D single...as usual, the pop songs get the momentum (in Baby D's case, it would be "Let Me Be Your Fantasy"). It is nice to see at least that "Daydreaming" never even really needed a dosage of remixes, the track does remain strong on it's own...unlike the latter that's been remixed to death, and still can't seem to quite get it right.

A timeless effort in my opinion, the UK never failed at capturing that Kingston/...Jungle sound...The infectious vocals that echo into each other over a dirty bassline is irrestible...no wonder Ray Keith and Marc Manix sampled the accapella for their own...

Classic hardcore from Floyd Dyce here, which, unlike Let me be your fantasy, really could do with being re issued.

For those who don't know it, this track has got some pretty decent singing which fits the beats and synths perfectly. The Accapella is just the synths / vocals for those wondering, and was used in another track by Manix, called Head In The Clouds.
