Is it just me or is the B side a little quieter than the A side? I find that especially 'Tire Me' sounds quiet and I turn my system up by around 30% to match volume between the A and B sides.

Does this pressing have any better sound on Side B than the 2018 reissue, or are they identical? -
Have got European remastered press and it sounds amazing. Concretly The Rumanian press, you must know that on this disc Dont Slap The bass with bis fingers like The first one perhaps its difficult Hear it with detail. -

The CD layer is definitely the pick here. Loud enough to be punchy, yet dynamic enough not to have no clipping.
Comparing the wave forms of the CD layer to the 1996 original is night and day.
The 1996 is brick walled and clips, whereas this fits perfectly between the lines.
Comparing the CD layer wave forms to the SACD layer is different.
The SACD layer is much too quiet and leaves too much headroom.
You will be reaching for the volume control way too much, however dynamic range remains the same between the layers just at different volumes levels. -

The B-Side is a little of a letdown. It lacks punch and volume. Else this is decent, but in no way great as a record. It's very affordable. -

WOW!! I have the original cd, the Steve Hoffman mastered SACD (which sounds very good) and the 2018 vinyl repress, but this absolutely tops them all. I’m impressed. Loud, aggressive, drums kick and bass vibrates the room, yet nice soundstage as midrange isn’t overpowered. Vocals front and center and balanced with guitars, nice depth so you can often place the vocals slightly behind the guitars! This is the one to own, my friends. -
Edited 3 months agoi've heard this album dozens of times and i think this is the most lively i've heard this album. bass is really nice, drums and vocals are really crisp. i love this pressing more compared to their self-titled
