Edited 3 months agoI had this 20 years ago but one of my so called mates 'borrowed' it and never gave it back

I seeing this in a vintage market in Seattle around 2015-16 for around $45 (it was for sure the original pressing) but I was a broke teenager so it slipped me by. Ah the could've beens

So as I was buying that record at my local record store the seller warned me about the warp on side A which doesn't affect the sound and he also said that it was a production issue. I got it anyway as it was cheaper than anywhere else. That being said, I would advise you to check the record before buying if that something that bothers you.
The record itself sounds great and quiet as well. I think that vinyl complements that album pretty nicely. -

My 2013 repress has a different matrix/runout code. is this a different variant or a different issue not listed here?

Yep, all the other comments here are correct. The sound on this first press is stunningly good. Everything is so rich, deep and textured. One of the best sounding records I’ve had the experience of hearing and reminds me why I collect vinyl in the first place.

Edited 2 years agoMy first experience hearing this album was quite special. I was on the motorway in England on the way to perform my first and last set at the famed Glastonbury festival (can't believe I even got to actually DJ there) I was with the crew from Eye Q records as I was an artist on that label in 1998. Right as we ed an open field I glanced out the window and saw Stonehenge. I was in shock as there it was just sitting in an open field, the most mind blowing thing about this moment is that on the car stereo the song Roygbiv was playing. Changed my life forever.

It's now 23 years after I bought this album and it sounds still amazing as then in '98. There was nothing comparable and there is nothing today. BoC invented a totally new sound aesthetic and over the years it became a milestone in music history - not more , not less - a Top10 electronic album of the century.

even a dusty, beat up copy like mine sounds amazing... not to sound like one of those philosophizing old men, but the noise and clicks totally just add authenticity to the beautiful collages on display. it's like looking through a photo album.
