Great songwriting. Note the mix is very mid-low end heavy. No sparkling highs or separation between the instruments.

A real gem of early 70s psych-power-pop. If you love Lennon/McCartney, Brian Wilson and Pete Ham, I promise you this record will not disappoint. Emitt struck gold here on this record. And he played every instrument! Interestingly enough, I've found this to be a fairly elusive record, especially in decent shape, but it's not one that will run you much money either. I got a minty first US pressing for a mere 15 bucks. -

Emitt Rhodes and Paul McCartney could be on the same platform for a moment. And this moment lasts for half an hour and this half hour is magical.

i am forever mad at myself for only finding out about this huge talent just right after he es. some of the most beautifully produced pop i have ever heard on this LP. -

Strange that this was released the same year as McCartney’s lp and I believe this is much better, both albums were solo projects too and no doubt Emitt sounds like Paul...
