Reviews

A really beautifully packaged LP set, but as others have said, the sound quality is really lacking. Sounds "hollow" and poorly separated.
-
I rated 4/5 not because of the caliber of the album but because of the sound of the pressing, just a lot of noise and distortion, especially side A. Also doesn’t feel like 150g. Bass sounds pretty good, the clear record effect I like but the smoke throws me off, but at least it doesn’t affect the sound

Edited 7 months agoWas a little flat sounding and surface noise on first play. Whenever I get colored vinyl that has marbling it always seems to be noisy. Overall it's still an okay package.

Edited 2 years agoI picked this up today as part of Walmart's Black Friday ($15 vinyl) sale.
It sounded a little muddy to me at first, but sounded better once I turned the treble up higher than I usually have it. The first 3 sides were super quiet: no pops or clicks. However, side 4 has a LOT of crackling during "Lady Cab Driver." I'll have to see if an ultrasonic cleaning takes care of it.
The clear vinyl is pretty, but I'm not sure why they added the "white smoke" effect. It just makes the record look scratched (as you can see in the photos).
Both of my inner sleeves were slightly split when I took them out of the cover for the first time, so I put the LPs in new antistatic sleeves.
Disc 1 was slightly warped, but not enough to affect playback.
Lastly, I seem to have a little piece of black fuzz pressed into one of my LPs. It's not on the surface, but INSIDE the record, and can't be removed. It doesn't affect playback, but it's a cosmetic flaw that's impossible not to notice.
For a brand-new pressing, the quality control sure is questionable. -
On my pressing Side A had some mild weaving grooves, but they were not audible.
Nothing on the remaining three sides was similar.
This does not feel like 180 Gram, but you won't care, as the pressing is clean throughout, and sounds very good. Playing back on a Stanton stylus, you know which one. Trip the light fantastic..... -
Edited 3 years agoLooks nice (foil jacket, clear smoke vinyl) but remastering is lack luster, prefer the original.
