To all the people complaining that this pressing sounds muddy or not dynamic, that’s just how this album has always sounded, the original cd is compressed as hell too. It could definitely use a remaster from the original tapes. That being said, this pressing still sounds decent, a few pops here and there but not an excessive amount.

Sounds quite distorted on my setup (RegaRP1/red+YamahaS501+GrahamSleeCommunicator) plus a few heavy pops in A1

Definitely on the quiet side but still a decent grab. Mostly on par with the other reissues from them

Three stars because I love the packaging and the color of the records themselves but honestly, this pressing isn’t too great. Some spots are surprisingly clear but a lot of this album sounds super distorted on my system and it made me think something was wrong with my setup. None of the other represses sound this bad, this album desperately needs a remaster.

Only a few consistent pops at the very beginning of Prelude 3.0, so 10/10 for the sound quality.
Also, what's with the lack of lyrics? A little bit of "Duality" & "Vermilion, Pt. 2" are present, but nothing else for whatever reason. You'd think their best-selling album would have lyrics like the rest of these reissues do!!! Not really a complaint though, since I have the CD -
My copy (the Canadian translucent Violet) sounds incredible for a Rick Rubin production.
Firstly - the pressing itself is fantastic right out of the sleeve, no warps, centred and no major amount of dirt or dust.
Secondly - the mastering is actually quite good, for such a distorted, compressed mix. This may be the best this album will ever sound outside of a remix...
The records were incredibly silent and dynamic when the music required it - and it certainly sounds less distorted and compressed than the digital counterpart.
Another great release from the recent reissue series. -

My Local record store was pulling these off the shelves yesterday, saying that they had been recalled for sound issues.
