Beautiful picture disc. It sounds good for what it is, but mine is now in a frame on the wall - as a picture disc should be.

Edited 6 months agoGot mine today and it definitely has that "wind" noise and it's not between tracks, it's just the whole time... any quiet moment in a song and you hear it. There's also a bubble in the runout on side 1 and some delamination around the center hole. I assume that's just how these are since they're not pressed like a traditional vinyl. I imagine it's like playing one of those flexible records that they used to have in kids books but they make this one out of clear plastic and affix it to a disc over the artwork. I'm a bit disappointed but it is a cool keepsake I guess.

Edited 6 months agoAwful plastic sleeve apart, I really like this. Sounds absolutely fine, certainly no “wind” or any other noise between tracks on my version. I really like the 2015 remix on the disc. As a huge Rush fan, I’m very pleased to own this.

I think this disc sounds reasonably good...I'd agree that the mastering is a little quiet, and there's a "wind" noise (mostly between tracks, fortunately). That said, the disc is an enjoyable listen. I'd rather have a non-picture-disc version, though...Signals is an extremely expensive record right now for good copies, so this is the best option at the moment. I simply discarded the plastic "cover" and used a stock cover.

Edited 2 years agoSurprised with the quality of this picture disc. Despite the normal surface noise that can be heard during silent moments, which is typical of this type of disc, the sound is quite decent. My item turned out to be completely flat and without impurities, pops, and clicks on the surface.
-
Other than the mastering being a little on the quiet side, my picture disc sounds pretty dynamic with barely any surface noise.

Looks like I got lucky with my copy as it plays perfectly, but the awful plastic sleeve was already splitting open on all sides, come on guys this is no way to sell a 40th anniversary edition of this fabulous album!!
-
This is an example of why I always tend to avoid picture discs. A friend of mine got this edition and invited me to listen to it. The audio quality is good, but the surface noise was awful, some pops and ticks too, and he had cleaned it very well.

This is your reminder to clean your records before listening to them for the first time, and yes, that INCLUDES your picture discs!

Mine sounds freaking awesome, the only think I completely loath is the sleeve it came in HORRENDOUS do better
