Edited 5 months agoIve always been a big fan of Bjork and her countless talents, but this...
she has completely outdone herself here.
the artistic and production levels match delivering a divine masterpiece that made 2001 a special year to me and my wife.
almost 25 years later it gives us the same thrills as when it was played the first time.
definition of a keeper.

Small and intimate, that is the atmosphere on Vespertine. The fourth official album by Björk is a fragile web of slow beats, harp, violin, cello, piano, and Her childlike, disarming voice. Björk in Cocoon is so close that you her breath next to you hear rustling. In it's Not Up To You she is again the little girl by Debut with hair elastics throat, toezingend and reassuring himself: ' it is not up to you what people give you '. Pagan Poetry moves, calling up memories to singer Liz Fraser of Cocteau Twins, with an almost desperate, screaming vocals. The instrumental Frosti is a klingelende game box, a melancholic sound and sets the tone for the next design Aurora, that sounds like a wonderful church hymn. Than Sun In My Mouth, a sensual story in which Björk a text from 1925 by the American poet E. E. Cummings sings, or actually tells. Painfully honest, vulnerable but strong, that's Vespertine. Björk appears to have reduced himself to a singer-songwriter with this-almost concept-album full of childlike glee of a girl skipping through the crackling snow, who stand with warm milk nestles by the fireplace, her play box opens and toezingt himself: ' I cowardly him, I cowardly him '.
