The assembly and package of this set was genius- unfortunately, the pressings from Third Man Records are eclipsed by both the originals as well as the current label reissues. I found "Barrett" to be the most noisy, but all seem to suffer from production miscues. The discs are nice-looking and fun to have -- but don't confuse these for audiophile pressings.

OK so I finally received this box set! No email about shipping or anything it just randomly showed up ages after I’d pre-ordered. That’s the bad news.
The good news? This is a beautifully compact slipcase box set with the 3 SYD LPs beautifully done with glorious sound. I love the way these sound and look.
Third Man is always a bit hit or miss for me— but this is a massive hit. May be the perfect little box set to have for such a mysteriously beautiful person like SYD. -
Finally received today. Unfortunately will not get to play until the weekend. Looking forward to it though based on reviews. Looks amazing!

The packaging is very cheap, but I suppose 3 LPs and a 7” single in one pack for $75 in 2023 is kind of a miracle unto itself. Sound quality is nice, none of my LPs had any surface noise, minus a little fuzzy spot at the tail end of side 1 of Madcap Laughs. This title was delayed about a month, but it’s hard to argue the value isn’t on the side of this product. Not a must have, but definitely fills a void if you don’t own any Syd Barrett albums.

Mine finally arrived with zero fanfare today! I also had seem splits on two of the sleeves (Madcap and Barrett), which is a shame because the presentation of these is very gorgeous. The records sound nice though, some noise throughout after a wet clean but I'm hoping that vanishes after many plays (which I'm sure to do). This all sounds more negative than I actually feel - just excited it's finally here. Love these albums dearly.

Edited one year agoFinally got mine today! Beautiful box set packaging, very durable. The vinyl's look really cool and each jacket is very well made. Vinyl sounds amazing and is dead quiet. Third Man did a great job on this one. Only issue is that it does have both sides of Madcap listed as Side One, but if tht is the only issue, I will take it any day! So glad I got in on this one and look forward to future Vault releases! Took an extremely long time to get, but well worth the wait!

I still have not had my package ship. I've had the vault since #6 and this is the one I want more than all others, and of course it is taking FOREVER to ship
