I just got a copy of this where the record matrix and label are correct, but the jacket has the Grammy award winner sticker on it like the other version with a different label. Does this copy also have this sticker, or could this be a replacement jacket?

Edited 9 months agoThis Monarch slays! I scored an incredibly clean, NM one for about 50 bucks on ebay, still in the shrink and it sounds phenomenal. My hunt is finally over. Steve Hoffman is right on the money with this one. This is the one to have, as far as Stereo vinyl goes. Nice & punchy, there's clarity.. I heard new details I haven't heard before. It's magical. 👍👍
Above all else, if you want a great sounding copy of this album, find one with a hand etched matrix... Those are true 1st pressings. Even if you can't find a clean Monarch, just make sure the matrix is etched. Avoid copies with the stamped matrix, as those are clearly from a later generation tape copy.. It's seriously night & day, folks! Also don't rely solely on the labels.. Always look for the gold & purple Atco label, of course, but check the runout, as even some of those can have a stamped matrix (ie. later "CTH" Columbia - Terre Haute pressings). Good luck! -

Edited 2 years agoThis is a clean older pressing, nice full sound and dynamics. Stereo is definitely the way to go with this mix.

I bought this because I like classic rock but never really listened to this album. Not only is a very excellent classic, it's a great pressing and the album art is freakin' cool. Every track on here is awesome.

Edited one year agoMany listeners says, especially in the Steve Hoffman Music Forums, this Monarch US pressing is one of the best stereo pressings of Disraeli Gears ever pressed.
Mr. Steve Hoffman have also said: GEARS and FIRE were recorded at Atlantic and the masters never left Atlantic Studios (USA). All foreign versions were cut from copy tapes of dubious quality.
