Edited 2 months agoSomewhat inconsistent pressing..Some songs are very bass heavy and require turning the bass levels down, like My Name is Jonas. In The Garage sounds absolutely incredible, however. Definitely sounds better the louder you crank it, and it is satisfying and loud at a certain point. Maybe I was spoiled by hearing the Pinkerton MoFi first, as it’s the best sounding record I own. I have No. 017324. Pretty sure this is a lot better than my reissue but I’m still not 100% satisfied.

Love this press. Still think the 94 uk press sounds better but if I had to pay those prices today for an OG I'd take the Mofi over it anyday.

Edited one year agoWhich mix of Say It Ain't So is used on the MoFi? A way to tell is if the first chorus has guitar in the mix. If so, it's the first mix. The mix the band called for in later pressings does not have the guitar in the first chorus. According to the 'Dusty Gems & Raw Nuggets' RSD release, it contains the "improved mix" which does not contain the guitar in the first chorus. Curious what the MoFi uses. I personally prefer the version with the because this is how I always the song.

I was lucky enough to find a NM, extremely low #1940 pressing at my local record shop. Given what people have said, it wouldn't surprise me if the metal started to wear out when they started getting >20000 copies. Mine is incredibly good and not low volume at all as has been mentioned. If you find a low number grab it.

My copy (#11347) is a little noisier than I’d like, but otherwise a very good pressing of a classic album.

Not sure if it's because my copy is above the 30k mark but I am not very impressed at all... The top end is particular underwhelming (cymbal crashes sound like static)... A fair amount of surface noise but not enough to really distract. However, my pressing does have a nasty skip during the build-up to the climax in "Holiday". Overall, sounds kind of dull on top of the other issues. Bummer.
