I love the way this album sounds. Haven’t been blown away with a record in a while. Maybe I just love CC that much. -
Good sounding release, but not what I expected. Far more experimental and atonal than their previous efforts, but still a good effort nevertheless. Likely to keep in the collection and mull my thoughts over playing the album a few more times before I rate it more firmly but for now 7/10. Pressing sounds excellent however.
EDIT:
Reviewing and enjoying this piece a second time, I appreciated it much more. While certainly more laid back and understated than previous efforts, this is a very peaceful album despite exceedingly dark undertones. By that I of course mean to say it sounds exactly as Crystal Castles should. Somehow heavy and dark despite being electro. Gorgeous!

Favorite Track: Transgender -
My copy has some clicks at the beginning of side A and one locked groove on track "Pale flesh". Also I read on amazon that there are a lot of issues with this release, but strangely here it it quiet.
