An album that spans time. This will still be good 65 years from now. With the times of how they have changed every song still hits.

Best I've heard for a vinyl version. It has the top end and mid-range clarity that the RE-3 NRP cut severely lacks. This cut sounds open whereas the NRP sounds dark and congested by comparison. It also sounds as though it has fuller bass and actually gave me more than I was expecting. I've auditioned three copies of the NRP and all had both severe physical and audible defects. This album deserves a far better reissue than it has after this 1996 version. Bernie Grundman would be the man for the job.

After listening to a recent reissue, an original '96 B&W label, and this colour label version, the colour label easily bests all of them. Very dynamic mastering considering the recording's original fidelity, very quiet vinyl (Keep in mind that a lot of "surface noise" is coming from those samples) and minimal sibilance (Which both other pressings had issues with)
This is definitely the one to get! The artwork is also at its sharpest on this pressing. -

Can someone if these reissues have the printed photo inner sleeve like the original 1991 pressing? I can only find photos with white sleeves (for either the B/W label or colored label versions). Would be too bad if that's the case.... The original LP has some sweet photos of the group.

For everyone's information i also have a copy hadnt opened it until after phife dawgs ing and the pops/distortion you hear was in the original recording. Samples back then intentionally had the "fried chicken" left in for basically hip hop integrity. So nothing's wrong with your copies gentlemen. 😄👍

I agree with the two previous reviews. There are pops/crackling on Side A. I wouldn't describe it as almost unlistenable as evertonis1 does, but it is definitely a strange experience to have a brand new LP sound like a used LP.
