Does anyone else have a pressing where the record labels R switched 4 each respective side? Mine has Side A with a Side B label and vice versa!

Edited one year agoSuperb cut by Heino Leja. Huge soundstage with crystal clear sound, and a dead/quiet pressing. You are buying this for the sound quality - the artwork is cheap and nasty, and a lack of an insert is just plain lazy.
-
I have just add this first pressing from rhino after many years of hesitation. It's a great pressing. The sound is just breathless ;-) : No surface noise, no distortion just a lot of pleasure for ears.

Just bought a brand new copy, and it is 100% identical to this version with the same sticker and the old WB logo etc., except for the runouts saying 'BD20755-01 A2 HL' and 'BD20755-01 B3 HL'. Why A2 and B3???

Edited one year agoReviewing every record in my collection
ok, i never tend to listen to this record because of how many songs each side has, and i dont know if its my copy or another thing, but it has a lot, and i mean A LOT of Surface noise since day one. i tried cleaning it and it still remains. on the sound department it really depends of the song, my review for each track would be;
1. I Want You. Sounds Awful, being a quiet Ballad + the Surface Noise + the fact that is on a side with seven songs + the fact that the record itself has a really low volume makes it flat, not pleasent to hear song.
2. Ill : sounds really good actually, good bass and a hearable upgrade from the CD
3. Take A Bow: i have no other record to compare this song from, but i guess is alright, good improvement but not so big
4..Youll see: sounds bad, not as bad as i Want You, but flat and really standard
5. Crazy For You; sounds very good, but if i compare it to the ones in The Immaculate Collection or La Isla Bonita EP Re editions made by Rhino those sounds even better (especially the one from La Isla Bonita)
6. This Used To be My Playground: Sounds as Bad as You ll see: flat and bad sound, the 12 inch from the 90´s sounds WAY better.
7. Live To Tell: Im Impressed actually Because it sounds very Good, really Shocked me being that is the last track of this side
8. Love Dont Live Here Anymore: sounds ok, but the one in the LAV sounds so much better, The bass here is directly Bad.
9. Something To : i Have a very Bad Copy from the 90's of im Breathless and it still sounds better than this version
10. Forbidden Love; Sounds ok, but not for a Vinyl
11. One More Chance: it Actually sounds really good, the guitar sounds nice and Madonna´s voice too
12, Rain: sounds good, not as good as in the Erotica LP, but not bad
13. Oh Father: bad, i have an original 1989 copy and it sounds WAY better
14. I want You (orchestral) : sounds better than the another I want You, but it still sounds bad
UPDATED THOUGHTS: Ok so a few years later and with new equipment I must say the sound did improve a little, still, it's a flat sounding record that feels like if they have grabbed songs from different releases instead of doing a mastering from scratch for this album, being the reason why the quality of these songs changes so much. I compared it side to side with the cd and it sounds better, not by a long mile, but it does. -
Surprisingly great sound quality for how many songs are squished onto each side. Dynamic, bass is strong and clear, no sibilance or igd but the volume is quite low. Obviously, turning it up will bring out a louder noise floor but overall it still sounds really good. Wish they repressed this over 2xLP, it would've sounded amazing.

I bought this over 3 years ago and it has sat sealed on the shelf ever since. I had little hope after seeing how many tracks were crammed into a single LP. Last track on each side is almost to the label. Smallest deadwax I have ever seen. How they got it to sound so good I have no idea. Yes the volume is low but the pressing is dead quite so there are no issues cranked up. No IGD either. Good job Optimal Media!

Absolutely STUNNING sound! So much better than I was expecting! Such a gorgeous album, deserves more love and attention!
-
Despite having over 70(!) minutes of music pressed to a single vinyl LP, this sounds great! I'm sure it would sound even better as a double set, but I'm quite happy with this release. A nice companion piece to "The Immaculate Collection" (although it does share 2 of the same tracks).
