As usual you can ignore the Discogs miserabilists, the pressing sounds excellent if you have a half decent record player.

Yup, side A sounds horrible at many parts. Dammit. I thought I was in the clear, because it’s not the whole track. Nope. What a shame/sham.

My copy sounds fantastic. No surface noise whatsoever. Both sides are crystal clear

Unlistenable because of the distortion on Side A.
Pretty bad.... :( Sounds like defective record :( Very upset because of it.

I'm on my second copy of this reissue from Juno and it's the same as first - unlistenable because of the distortion on Side A. Shocking that Warp just put these out with this glaring fault. I'm running a Rega Planar 3 with Goldring 2200 cart and stylus.

I can confirm, just bought a release where the chorus sounds scratchy af on the A side, B side sounds a lot better though.

However, since I am using an older P-mount turntable (Technics sl-b260), and a pretty low end pre-amp, I'm a little curious to see what the result would be on a higher end system. It'd probably end up just about the same, but it's still something that could affect this.

As a lot of other people have pointed out, the chorus on "Windowlicker" is very scratchy. Such a shame.
