I think this one sounds great! Lost of clarity and fullness. Major props for this one being a 90's era album that isn't a reissue with 2-3 songs spread across each side of two albums.
-
Fine sounding cut of the record, Bernie did a fantastic job with this. Huge nuanced soundstage, Beck teleporting like a ghost in and out between the speakers…. The bong load is cut hotter and seems to have more drive. That said the pressing quality here is outstanding thanks to the master pressers at pallas. Mine is flat quiet and with out no fill.

Got mine as a repackaged as new but used return from Walmart. Still sounds greadt. But runout is extended. Can't find anywhere: 40785 1(3)... blackbelt - levi

Great pressing. Great soundstage imaging separation & detail. A lot of record for $19…

With all those rave reviews on these BG cuts including all color editions and EU edition, I was really curious about SQ.
my copy comes with double side insert instead of 1996 Bong Load 6 page insert. And the print of sleeve looks a bit saturated compared to the 1996 Bong Load.
SQ? well, if you have 1996 Bong Load, don't waste 20 something dollar on this.
This is just OK sounding release. Overall sound is subdued on this release
Right after playing this edition, I put 1996 Bong Load on the deck, the differences are pretty each catch. You will need max. 1 minutes to recognize the superiority of 1996 Bong Load. This shoot-out didn't even require several playbacks. Bong Load release just pops out.
This album is not another Sea Change or Morning Phase. BG seemed to treat this album as such. So the all the fun and dynamic interplay of sound effects lost its sparks and buried in this BG cut.
Go and get 1996 Bong Load which isn't much expensive. If anyone insists this is better sounding than 1996 OG. well... I won't argue. How could I argue with someone who can't even see this easiest shoot-out.
Modded RP6 with Nagaoka MP500. Sugden A21se Signiture. ATC SCM 19v2. GS Accession with proper cabling. -
This sounds really good! BG did a fantastic job. I also have the ORG 4LP version, but I reach for this single LP when I want to hear this music

Just picked up a new copy of this at one of my local shops. Sounds amazing, super detailed and quiet pressing. Mine had a "Made in " sticker on the rear shrinkwrap, and the inner sleeve is poly-lined paper.

Edited 5 months agoThis record sounds a bit flat and compressed unfortunately: subdued and bass heavy. I only have the cd to compare this to but was hoping for something better, brighter, and more separation. The disc did come clean and flat though. But I don’t think I”ll listen to this much unfortunately as it doesn’t sound that great.

Good pressing however anyone else noticed static/noise on the left channel on side A? My copy only? No such issue on side B
