Eno* – Taking Tiger Mountain (By Strategy)

I wasn’t going to get this and wait until I found a first pressing but I found a sealed copy for 45. I then see another sealed copy that is on the wall for 75$. I couldn’t let that cheaper copy go to someone else. I’m glad I did. The needle drop was completely quiet and the music really does shine. Third uncle just hits so hard I was in musical ecstasy. Packaging is very nice too. The color really pops and I’ve never seen this cover in person so it’s cool to see all the faces in detail. A great fine 100%!

I've found a pressing error on two clean examples of the 1st UK pressing. It causes an obvious "skip" during the 1st line of vocals on the first song which fouls up the rhythm and omits some lyrics. Anyone else find this? Luckily, my German reissue on Polydor sounds wonderful and does not have this problem. Great Eno album.

Insane sound on this US reissue, I think it beats the originals, just like others stated, the presence and drive here sweeps you, particularly on the heavy, protopunk anthem "Third Uncle"!!!!!

I’ve owned five different pressings. This is by far superior—the best I’ve heard. Sound quality is full and rich. I sold my other copies after purchasing this one.

Forgot I bought this months ago. So I finally open it, and sure enough. Scratched, right out of the packaging. Oddly enough, these scratches on side 2 seem to also line up with the sharpness of the edge of the foldback inside the jacket. Go ahead and reach in and feel it. Is yours also sharp? This now gives me concern about picking up any others in this series.

Other then that, it sounds awesome. It plays through fine. No dishing in this one.

Oh i love how they cheaped out with those crappy white paper sleeves. Figured this would've came with a paper/poly one.

A seriously nice sounding pressing; my copy isn't perfect, but for the small amount of noise that it has, the music mostly drowns it out. Has that very large presence type of sound, plus the music is even better! I can't imagine it sounding much better than this.

I have 2 copies of this LP. There are minor but noticeable differences in the sleeves. One copy has blacked out eyes on the centre picture on each image and the small island i on the bottom back of the sleeve has a green edging which the other doesn't.
Can anyone shed any light on this? Thank you

This is a total sleeper pressing. Sounds phenomenal; great mastering and pressing.
