Khruangbin – Mordechai

I'm glad to see that I wasn't the only one disappointed by the terrible quality of this pressing. So much surface noise and distortion that I had to check my stylus to make sure it hadn't broken or something. I love the music, but I much rather listen to the digital format on my computer than spin the record version. At least it looks cool I suppose.

As others have stated - not a Hi-Fi release and doesn't sound great. I do think this version from TTL sounds better than the pink indie copies that were pressed. I have also heard that the regular black doesn't have issues with surface noise and distortion as much as the previously mentioned.

Music is 10/10 but this pressing is honestly embarrassing. Tons of distortion on both sides that completely ruins the guitar sound. Buy this to display on your wall I guess. Even then the clear smoke isn't a super unique variation like the Con Todo El Mundo green/blue swirl was.

A couple of pops on my copy which is unfortunate because it is otherwise quiet and flat. The pressing is just ok. This is not an audiophile quality record. The music is very good though. I'm new to Khruangbin this year. I started with Texas Sun and then picked up this one. I'm enjoying Mordechai even more than the EP. It is great mood music. I highly recommend this record but wouldn't promote paying high dollars for a special pressing.

Meh pressing... Lots of distortion on B side. The music is interesting though... Unfortunately, it sounds way better when streaming from Amazon Music HD.

My copy is flat and dead quiet. Sounds phenomenal. No distortion anywhere that I can decipher. Will play on my main rig tonight to confirm.

Just listened to digital version. Sounds too lush (lo-fi) and really quite. Need to significantly increase volume. What about vinyl SQ?

The "smoke" that is captured inside of the vinyl here, is just so nice to look at. Plus what is best, is you can play a good trick, with it. I put this variant on, to my small portable turntable outdoors, while my mam and her hunky toyboy (Gavin) were starting the BBQ, the other day. As the smoke began to waft and billow over, I suddenly shouted, "oh no mam, you're getting smoke inside of my record!!" When my mam hurried over to look, I pretended to be so distraught by pointing and crying big tears. She said she was sorry, and then later on, she let me have an extra sausage to make up for the "smoke" she got inside my new Khruangbin record. Yum yum!!

Is there somewhere a version of this album at cd in a jewel case? (I hate digipacks)
