Notes

This the first initial pressing of a Delerium CD on Dossier to have a barcode. Also, it's odd that in 1991, it still says "West ".
4-page booklet including DOSSIER CDs catalogue.

Track 3, "Aftermath II" is incorrectly printed on booklet backside as "Aftermath" and is different compared to the version on the 1991 album "Stone Tower".
This track was re-released in 1995 on the compilation "Reflections II".

Track 8 "Deceased" is incorrectly credited on booklet backside as "Deceaced".

I agree with "marks" although Spheres is my favourite thing they have ever done, largely due to the LSD I had taken before listening to it. Delerium (Phase One) are the best Soundtrack makers that never were. Check out WILL also.

It says "DOSSIER DCD 9080" on the back... on the backside of the cd-case in the upper left

The end of an era. This was the the last album to truly feature Delerium in all their sepulchral glory. Released in the late summer of 1991, it was followed shortly after by the magnificent Euphoric EP which in itself was the final gasp from the band.

Since then, trance remixes and pretentious guest vocalists have become the norm, but 'Spiritual Archives' is glorious.

Beginning with the insanely epic track Drama, Fulber and Leeb unleash the oppressive atmospheres. This is not the delerium who have since become whores for whatever product placement deal they can ink but rather, a much more introspective even malicious outfit. There isn't a lot of light to be found within the span of 'Spiritual Archives'. Don't look for any kind of effervescent sap about the magic of faeries or witches cauldrons here, unless you're willing to be drowned in one.

Soundtrack work such as this does not issue forth from this pair any longer but for those of us who when Delerium were baleful and utterly drenched in cinematographic glory 'Spiritual Archives' is the fitting capstone. Delerium's work was to later move into the realms of the cosmos with Spheres I and II before returning to earth to ransack enigma's approach.
